Major Attractions of Moscow and the Greater Area

Although Moscow cannot boast as many palaces and museums as St. Petersburg, it is truly a center of the Russian religion. There are many medieval churches and cathedral located in Moscow and in its vicinity where the Russian Patriarch has his official residence.

Another unique feature of Moscow is the abundance of constructivist-style buildings better known as "Stalin houses" since the majority of them were built during the Stalin regime. The eight high-rise houses crowned with huge stars used to be dwellings of the Soviet elite. Up to this day these houses fetch top dollar in the secondary housing market and are considered to be among the best addresses in Moscow.
